Before the month is over, Democrats plan to force Congress to vote on the health care takeover already passed by the Senate. That makes the House of Representatives – and the American people – the last line of defense against government-run health care .
And that's why Republicans have launched " Code Red ," an all-out effort to put the heat on vulnerable Democrats and pressure them into opposing this massive and unpopular bill. The question is: will they side with Speaker Pelosi? Or will they side with the American people?
To get involved in this critical effort, visit Code Red now. Click here
U.S. Representative Paul Broun, M.D. (GA-10) Wednesday, March 3, 2010, announced that he will host “Congress on the Square” this month in ten local communities. “Congress on the Square” is a series of events where Dr. Broun sets up mobile offices in communities where he does not have a district office. Broun’s staff will be available to help constituents who require assistance with federal agencies, such as Social Security and Veterans Affairs. His staff will also be on hand to provide updates about health care reform and other legislation before Congress. The congressional voting schedule in Washington, D.C. does not permit Dr. Broun to be present at these events.
“I am here to serve the people of Georgia in every way I can. I urge folks to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with my staff members during ‘Congress on the Square’. If my team is unable to help you, they will certainly point you in the direction of someone who can,” said Dr. Broun.
“Congress on the Square” is free and open to the public. For more information about “Congress on the Square”, constituents may call one of Dr. Broun’s three district offices in Toccoa at (706) 886-1008, Athens at (706) 549-9588, or Augusta at (706) 447-3857.

Sen. Jim Butterworth Over the last 6 weeks I've been fighting a rather personal health battle with family and close friends. For the rest of my life I will now say that I am a cancer survivor. Rebecca Stewart of Clayton radio station SKY 104 caught me at a weak moment and we discussed the health issue I've been dealing with. I owe a great ...deal to my close friend Preston Smith who I called on repeatedly to work through this test of life. His prayers were strong and timely. I am a different man physically, mentally and spiritually as a result of this experience. God is great and His timing is always perfect, even if we don't understand it at that moment. (James 1:2-6)

Governor Sonny Perdue is proposing that four state constitutional officers now elected by the public should instead be appointed by the governor.
The four are state school superintendent, agriculture commissioner, labor commissioner and insurance commissioner.
The change would require two-thirds approval in each house of the Legislature, and would have to be ratified by the state’s voters.
The governor elected in 2014 would be the first to appoint people to the four positions. Appointments would require confirmation by the Senate.

Recently it has been brought to our attention that there is some confusion regarding the 2010 U.S. Census. The census is administered every 10 years and serves as an invaluable tool for our government.
Please be advised that the official one-page U.S. Census is not going to be administered until February/March of 2010. However, the U.S. Department of Commerce is also coordinating a separate, longer questionnaire program. The American Community Survey runs several pages and asks detailed questions designed to help cities, counties and states allocate resources more efficiently. Each year approximately 3 million households in the United States and Puerto Rico are selected to participate.
By law, the results of both the official U.S. Census and the American Community Survey are kept strictly confidential and at no time will anyone be asked to provide information with which you can be personally identified. In addition, no government agencies outside the U.S. Census Bureau will have access to anyone’s personal answers at any time.
Participation in both the official U.S. Census and the American Community Survey is required by law. If you choose not to answer questions or provide false answers for either survey, federal law says you shall be fined no more than $100.
If you have any questions or concerns on the matter, the U.S. Census Bureau can be reached at (301) 763-3691 or on the internet at 2010 Census. For more information about the American Community Survey, visit www.census.gov/acs/
